Nurtec ODT is generally well tolerated
Selected Important Safety Information
Do not take Nurtec ODT if you are allergic to Nurtec ODT (rimegepant) or any of its ingredients.
Nurtec ODT may cause serious side effects including:
Allergic reactions, including trouble breathing and rash, can happen after you take Nurtec ODT. This can happen days after you take Nurtec ODT. Call your HCP or get emergency help right away if you have swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, or throat, trouble breathing, or rash. This occurred in less than 1% of patients treated with Nurtec ODT.
High blood pressure can worsen or occur after you take Nurtec ODT. Contact your HCP if you have an increase in blood pressure.
A circulation problem called Raynaud’s phenomenon can worsen or occur after you take Nurtec ODT. This can lead to your fingers or toes feeling numb, cool, or painful, or changing color from pale, to blue, to red. Contact your HCP if these symptoms occur.
The safety profile for Nurtec ODT was extensively studied in clinical trials
Side effects
Acute treatment of migraine with or without aura. In a study of 682 patients, the most common side effect was:
- Nausea (2% of people who took Nurtec ODT vs 0.4% of people who took placebo)
Preventive treatment of episodic migraine. In a study of 370 patients, the most common side effects were:
- Nausea (2.7% of people who took Nurtec ODT vs 0.8% of people who took placebo)
- Indigestion/stomach pain (2.4% of people who took Nurtec ODT vs 0.8% of people who took placebo)
These are not all the possible side effects of Nurtec ODT. Talk to your healthcare provider about any side effects you may experience.
